Engine Bay Cleaning

Precision cleaning for engine bays without water or chemicals, safe for all electronics and wiring.

Overview

Engine bays accumulate decades of oil, grease, and road grime that traditional cleaning methods can't safely address. Water-based cleaning risks electrical damage, while chemical cleaners can corrode sensitive components. Dry ice blasting cleans every surface in your engine bay, including harnesses, sensors, and hard-to-reach areas, without introducing any moisture or chemicals.

Engine bay cleaning is one of the most requested services for car enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone preparing a vehicle for sale. Traditional methods using degreasers and pressure washers risk electrical damage, water intrusion, and chemical residue. Dry ice blasting engine bays has become the gold standard because it's completely dry, chemical-free, and reaches every surface including behind the engine, under the intake manifold, and inside tight brackets. Sub-Zero Blastworks provides mobile engine bay cleaning across Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood, the GTA, and all of Simcoe County. Whether you're prepping for a car show, detailing before a sale, or simply want a clean engine bay, our dry ice blasting service delivers factory-fresh results every time.

Questions

Engine Bay Cleaning FAQs

Is it safe to dry ice blast near electrical connectors?

Absolutely. Dry ice blasting is 100% dry. There's zero risk of short circuits or moisture damage to ECUs, sensors, wiring harnesses, or connectors. It's actually the safest method for cleaning around electronics.

Will dry ice blasting remove engine paint?

No. At standard pressures used for engine bay cleaning, dry ice blasting will not remove factory paint or powder coating. It removes surface contaminants only. If paint removal is desired, we can increase pressure and adjust technique.

How long does engine bay cleaning take?

Most engine bay cleanings take between 1 and 2 hours depending on the level of contamination and the complexity of the engine bay layout.
